حدود البحث: يختص هذا البحث بالتعريف بأبي الخير ومکانته العلمية، والتعريف بکتابه ومنهجه فيه، وقيمته.
أهم النتائج: تَعَرُّفُ العالم الکبير أبي الخير بن منصور الشماخي، وتوجيه أنظار الباحثين للتعرف على بقية کتب الشماخي، وتصحيح ما وقع من خطأ في نسبة هذا الکتاب إلى غير أبي الخير، وتصويب بعض ما وقع في النسخ الخطية والمطبوع من التفسير الوسيط للواحدي.
وأهم التوصيات: دراسة جهوده في العلوم الأخرى، وبالأخص علم الحديث ورجاله، فهو من المبرزين في هذا العلم، وجمع النسخ الخطية لهذا الکتاب وتتبعها، ثم تحقيق هذا الکتاب ونشره لتسهل الاستفادة منه.
